OakLeaf Clinics - Business Office has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as a payment posting representative.

OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing our patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants working in concert with laboratory/imaging services to offer individualized care to the Chippewa Valley.

Position description

The payment posting representative will be responsible for and manage all incoming payments (electronic and manual), allowances, adjustments, credits, refunds, and recoupments. Primarily ensuring account accuracy and the ability to meet daily/weekly/monthly deadlines. This position is a full-time, hourly position that will report directly to the Business Office lead and be located on-site at our Business Office location in Eau Claire, WI. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the payment posting process 
  • Prioritize daily work and assess backlog situations 
  • Reconcile cash and check receipts and credit card payments from an electronic file
  • Reconcile various invoices 
  • Identify, research, and ensure timely processing of payments and error corrections
  • Apply EFT and ERA payments
  • Manually posting payments and denial rejection codes from EOBs into the Epic system
  • Maintain an approachable and positive attitude when interacting with all levels of personnel in a rapidly changing environment
  • Execute special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic EHR preferred
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred
  • Medical coding or billing experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective customer relation skills
  • Ability to organize and interpret data
  • Multi-task quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively in a team environment
