Willow Creek Women's Clinic is a nursing-model clinic where APPs practice in collaboration with physicians but truly lead and guide our practice.
Position description
As an NP or PA, you'll spend time with women to assess, diagnose, prescribe medications, order tests, and collaborate with medical team members to ensure the best treatment plan for each patient. As a skilled provider on our team, you will provide thoughtful, comprehensive medical and educational services in an environment that empowers you to lead within your practice. You will utilize the expertise of a collaborating physician leader and our referral networks to enhance and broaden your care. Working with a diverse range of patients, you will deliver high-quality care, encompassing maintenance and prevention, as well as the treatment of injuries and illnesses. You will also work in a highly cooperative setting, collaborating with other providers, coworkers, and the public to ensure positive patient interactions.
Responsibilities
- Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based medicine
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical examinations
- Provide ongoing care for patients in areas of family practice, primary care, and women's health for women 12 and up
- Develop and implement treatment plans for diverse needs, including chronic disease management, acute illness, gynecological and reproductive health, and more
- Prescribe medication, examine patients, diagnose illnesses, and provide treatment
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and imaging
- Gather health histories, perform physical examinations, and diagnostic procedures
- Dictate and document all patient interactions
- Provide contraceptive counseling, fertility support, hormone management, and menopause-related care
- Assist in preventive health care, screenings, and patient education on lifestyle, wellness, and holistic approaches
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards
- Notify the managing physician about unusual or unexpected events or problems
- Communicate effectively with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families
- Perform other responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the physician and within the NP/PA scope of practice
Qualifications
- Current nurse practitioner or physician assistant license in the State of Wisconsin
- Certification in Women's Health (WHNP), Family Practice (FNP), or equivalent (strongly preferred)
- Prior experience in family practice and women's health (strongly preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association (if applicable)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association (if applicable)
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology
- A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent patient counseling skills
- Knowledge of disease prevention
- Commitment to evidence-based, holistic, and patient-centered care
Work environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinical setting and a limited amount of hospital rounding.
Physical demands
An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Major activities of this job include frequent walking, standing, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. The medical office involves carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and squatting. Use a computer and telephone and employ writing and organizational skills. Manual dexterity, mobility, and good vision, including near acuity, depth perception, and accommodation, are necessary for technical work.
