OakLeaf Clinics - Eau Claire Medical Clinic is seeking a full-time registered nurse to join our expanding team.
OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing our patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants working in concert with laboratory/imaging services to offer individualized care to the Chippewa Valley.
Position description
The registered nurse collaborates with the outpatient treatment team to coordinate care for our patients. Duties include triaging patient needs over the phone and assisting the clinical team with in-person patient care, such as IV fluid administration, suture removals, medication administration (IM/SQ), etc.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic
- Develop, coordinate, and implement a patient plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Use the nursing process to provide ongoing care (assess, plan, intervention, and evaluation)
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient's status and need for care
- Determine priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs
- Provide triage and consultation to patient, family, and others
- Communicate with the healthcare team and document accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions
- Follow through with necessary procedures, test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services
- Refer questions to the provider and relay information back to the patient as directed
- Perform advanced clinical tasks or skills such as the removal of sutures
Qualifications
- Previous RN experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience working in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting
- Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills
- Epic experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic setting.
Physical demands
The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Major activities of this job include frequent walking, standing, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. The medical office involves carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and squatting. The employee must use a computer and telephone and employ writing and organizational skills. Manual dexterity, mobility, and good vision, including near acuity, depth perception, and accommodation, are necessary for technical work.
