OakLeaf Clinics - Eau Claire Medical Clinic is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a full-time registered nurse to join our growing team.

This position is full-time, working Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It is located at our Eau Claire Medical Clinic, 3802 Oakwood Mall Drive, Eau Claire, WI 54701, with possible travel to 855 Lakeland Drive, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

Position description

The registered nurse collaborates with the outpatient treatment team to coordinate care for our patients.  Includes triaging patient needs over the phone, assisting the clinical team with in-person patient care, i.e., IV fluid administration, suture removals, medication administration (IM/SQ), etc.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting
  • Create, coordinate, and implement a patient plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Use the nursing process to provide ongoing care (assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate)
  • Recognize and respond to changes in the patient's status and need for care
  • Determine priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs
  • Provide triage and consultation to patients, family, and/or significant others
  • Communicate with physicians and other members of the health care team and document accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions
  • Follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services
  • Refer questions to the physician/provider and relay information back to the patient as directed
  • Perform advanced clinical tasks or skills, such as the removal of sutures
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet clinic needs

Qualifications

  • Previous RN experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting
  • Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills
  • Epic EMR experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic setting.

Physical demands

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Major activities of this job include frequent walking, standing, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. The medical office involves tasks such as carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and squatting. The employee must use a computer and telephone and employ writing and organizational skills. Manual dexterity, mobility, and good vision, including near acuity, depth perception, and accommodation, are necessary for technical work.
