OakLeaf Clinics - Eau Claire Medical Clinic is seeking a full-time radiology tech to join our expanding healthcare team.

9 or 12-hour shifts on weekdays
6-hour day shifts on weekends
4-hour day shift holidays (2/Year)
Weekends rotate every third weekend

Position description

The Radiology Technician - CT will be responsible for performing high-quality Computed Tomography (CT) images. This role requires strong imaging skills, patient-care experience, and the ability to work independently in a clinic-based setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling exams, rooming patients, reception services, including check-in, removing soiled linens, obtaining prior images, and performing chart prep
  • Perform diagnostic exams at a technical level commensurate with training, certification, and experience
  • Check orders for complete information and appropriate criteria
  • Determine if additional technical support is required and follow protocols
  • Set-up imaging room to coincide with the examination to be performed
  • Follow proper infection control procedures
  • Verify two patient identifiers
  • Safety transfer patients to and from carts, beds, and wheelchairs
  • Position patients ensure safety, comfort, and modesty
  • Select proper imaging devices, assist personnel, and set the machine to obtain optimal images
  • Meet the daily goals of the work group by prioritizing the workflow
  • Use a variety of imaging equipment and understand the capabilities and limitations of each piece of equipment
  • Use the PACS system and maintain expertise in data and image transfer
  • Check the status of the equipment to ensure the device is in proper operating condition
  • Notify the appropriate team lead when equipment malfunctions and facilitate contacting the vendor for service
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate certification for modalities of responsibility
  • Utilize fluctuations in the modality workload to complete administrative functions
  • Perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures
  • Perform all general and advanced-level imaging procedures competently and provide support for other imaging technologists as needed
  • Participate in imaging studies, comprising most of the daily activities
  • Obtains sufficient information to determine the priority of the exam
  • Explain all studies to the patient in a caring manner, providing resources to patients and family members
  • Prepare contrast
  • Critique images accurately to determine if they are of diagnostic quality, and adjust factors if they are of diagnostic quality or if an image needs to be repeated
  • Start and maintain intravenous (IV) access if needed
  • Rotate within departments for proper coverage
  • Clean, disinfect, and inspect equipment
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Work a flexible schedule within the clinic or department hours based on clinical demand or need

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology
  • Bachelor's degree in a  relevant field (preferred)
  • New graduates welcome; two years of clinical experience (preferred)
  • AART Radiography (R) certification
  • Wisconsin Radiologic License
  • AART Computer Tomography Certificate (CT) within 30 months of hire
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of patient care notes
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Passionate about providing patient-focused care
  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail
  • Prior Epic experience(preferred)
